#6 of 40 Days of Baking: Beer Bread

They who drink beer will think beer.

– Washington Irving

I’m not exactly sure what Irving meant by that, but it’s Beer Bread day, and I needed a beer day quote, so make of it what you will 😂

And to be honest, I’m not much of a beer drinker — like, at all. In fact, I substituted apple cider for the beer in my beer bread recipe, so I guess I really needed an apple quote… Here goes:

The tarter the apple, the tastier the cider.

― Beverly Lewis, The Revelation

My store-bought starter comes from Soberdough, a Nashville-based company specializing in beer bread. My sister purchased a sampler kit of them and kindly shared the flavors with the fam 🙌

The package included the dry ingredients, a cinnamon spice packet, and instructions. All I needed was my liquid of choice to mix it up.

The cider did its job today — this bread is delicious!

I enjoyed a slice warm from the oven, topped with whip cream and fresh peaches. I'd definitely make it again!

That's it for Day 6 💛

With love and hugs,
